Our NEW self study CPR course, is a complete CPR
training and certification course offering Infant, Child and Adult CPR.
The course contents include the following main sections:
- The Latest Guidelines
- Dealing with Emergencies
- Breathing Emergencies
- Cardiac Emergencies
This course is designed to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical
skills. The hands-on activities help you develop the ability to identify and
prioritize victims, practice performing chest compressions, and practice on your
timing for breathing into a victim. The assessment tests both your theoretical
and practical knowledge.
STUDY TIME (1-4 hours)
Depending on your previous knowledge of CPR, it may take different
amounts of time to go through the course. If you have no experience with CPR,
most people will take from 4 hours to go through all of the content and the
practice activities. Some people prefer to practice more on the activities than
others. The test will take approximately 1 hour. You can take it more than once.
CERTIFICATE
On successful completion of the test, you will qualify for a
Successful Completion Certificate. Once you have successfully completed your
test you log back on to us via the Internet - and our system does the rest - and
we send your certificate. You can take as little or as long as you like to take
the test.
SOME PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES ON THE CD
An important innovation which makes Citizen Safety Institute a
world leader is its interactive activities. They help you learn skills and
provide you with a way to practice until you have perfected them. Here are a few
examples of the types of activities you will perform.
- Learn how to survey the scene
- Apply the Phone First Phone Fast rule
- Locate and prioritize victims
- Learn what information to give when you dial 911
- Practice the correct hand position for rescue breathing and CPR
- Learn correct head tilt and chin lift
- Practice performing compressions
- Practice maintaining the correct rhythm, rate and number of breaths
